Compassion is not simply what we
do, it’s really who we are. It’s living
out day in and day out our calling to follow Jesus and to reflect His great
heart of love. Nor is compassion
something that is separate and distinct from the powerful message and story of
Jesus, shared in words. The two go hand
in hand.
Showing compassion manifests itself in many ways and forms. It may involve showing Jesus love and kindness to orphans in Ukraine. It may involve giving from our wealth to help those victimized by an earthquake in Haiti. It may involve coming alongside a pastor or leader who has experienced grief due to the loss of a beloved spouse. It always involves sacrifice. And it always involves being Jesus in deed and in word to those in need. It’s sharing in the sufferings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s one of Converge MidAtlantic’s core ministries.
Please look through the opportunities and the stories of compassion in our regional movement. It’s our hope that you’ll experience something of the touch of Christ. And it’s our prayer that you’ll play your part in showing compassion to those in our world who are in great need.
